Leo is an Alexander Technique Teacher with a professional Performing Arts background. He developed a strong interest in human potential and soon was offered the opportunity to share his skills with other people; that’s how his path in Education started. During his development, he explored human movement, expression and creativity in-depth around South America, Europe and Australia.
The exploration around human potential formally started with his acting training in Chile where he performed and directed theatre pieces, however, his focus was devoted to teaching. In Education, he has found a way to share his skills and information collected with other people promoting creativity, spontaneity and adaptability.
His passion for human development, creativity, movement and expression are his drive in everything he does.
His investigation around human development led him to discover the vocal phenomenon with all its expressive potential. He travelled to France to study Vocal Performance and Choreographic Theatre at PanTheatre School in Paris. He continued exploring deeply into the creative movement expression for performers and studied Contemporary Dance in the Laban Centre in London and also with Claude Brumachon and Benjamin Lamarche (France). This created a learning curve rich in technical knowledge as well as compassion to understand the uniqueness in every self.
As he gathered more knowledge regarding human functioning and its expressiveness, he found in the Alexander Technique a way to convey harmony for the experience of being present in what we do and a clear process to apply to any activity in life. He travelled to his beloved Australia to study the Alexander Technique Teacher Training at The School for F.M. Alexander Studies in Melbourne.
The Technique offered him a way to cooperate with body parts, mechanisms and systems in the beautiful experience of being alive. Since he graduated as a Teacher of the Technique, Leo has been working with individuals helping them to understand the beautiful complexity of human design.
Before moving to Tasmania, he was the Alexander Technique teacher in the main acting studios in Melbourne, making his dream of applying this process to acting come true.
Nowadays he is registered with the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (AUSTAT) as a fully qualified Alexander Technique teacher. His work incorporates dynamic elements from performing arts and the science behind the Alexander Technique
